I’m a huge fan of web applications and I think EVERY application that we use should be run in the cloud and not on our local computers.
One of my favorite new apps is notepad.cc which has completely replaced windows notepad for me. I used to use notepad a lot and would end up with dozens of different windows open. Now I can keep everything organized in my web browser and I can easily access my files from anywhere.
I could end up using several different computers in any given day. Ranging from my laptop, desktop, school computer, work computer, iPhone, my wife’s computer, my friends’ computers and so I need to have access to all my files from wherever I am. Most everything I used day by day is saved in gmail or google docs. And so if I lost my laptop today I honestly have nothing to be worried about because it is all saved online.
All my music is online now too. I listen to music library every single day using grooveshark. I’m using it right now actually as I’m writing this post.
A few months ago I went looking for an online cisco router simulator so that I could study and prepare for my next cisco exam. Since so much of my life resides in the cloud you can now see my frustration when the only router simulators that I could find I had to download to my computer. That isn’t my style and so I have yet to use either of them. So rather than waiting for someone else to come out with an Online Router Simulator I decided to make my own.
If there already is a great online router simulator out there that I just haven’t heard about yet, awesome, but I don’t care because I’m going to build a better one.
I plan on releasing a simple version in Feb 2011. If you are interested in seeing my latest updates for my simulator please check out this page.
My goal for my simulator is simple: provide an online simulator that anyone can use to prepare for their latest Cisco Exam. I know that for many people it can be very difficult to afford practice equipment of your very own to prepare with and so I want to eliminate all of the excuses that someone might have for not getting their Cisco Certification and make it possible for everyone to obtain.

Have you been wanting to get your Cisco Certification for some time now?

Took a while to find a place to contact you, should put your e-mail somewhere here. In any case, if you need testers for your router simulator; wouldn’t mind looking into it. Hint: Try to make it something easy to setup and start with, with or without IOS images.
Actually, I think I have your site bookmarked on another computer. I have to go over the ICND2 stuff here. I passed ICND1, but failed ICND2 by ~ 100 points. Bah. Nice site, thanks for sharing your knowledge with others!
Sweet man thanks for your willingness to be a tester for my router simulator! I’ll be sure to email you some more info about how you can help when I get some more functionality out of it.
Also congrats on passing your ICND1 Exam!! I also failed my ICND2 exam the first time around but nailed it the second time around. I’m sure you will do great on your second attempt. Be sure to take it sooner rather than later.
I like the helpful info you provide in your articles. I will bookmark your weblog and check again here regularly. I’m quite sure I will learn lots of new stuff right here! Best of luck for the next!
