Online Network Simulator Update: Support for multiple routers and the ping command

I’m currently on Spring Break. It sure is nice to have a week off of school. I’ve been busy working on updates to the Online Network Simulator and hope to release them by the end of the week.

With the new update you will be able to program 3 different routers configure their interfaces and ping between them. This might not sound like much, but will allow you do to most of what is on the CCENT Exam. Which should be a great help for many you studying, but don’t have access to actual cisco equipment.

Below is a screen shot of what you will have access to in a few more days:

Online Network Simulator Update - Support for Multiple Routers and the Ping command

As you can see there are two routers that I have configured each with their own ip address on their e0 interface. And then from r1 I was successfully able to ping between them.

Check out the simulator page to start practicing on the current version.

Sorry guys, due to an overload in homework at school and projects that I need to complete at work not sure when I’ll get the latest update out that will allow you to configure three separate routers.

I was hoping to have it done last week, but it just didn’t happen.

Not sure when I’ll be able to finish it. Soon though ;)

    Thanks for your patience.

    • Hey I am studing for my CCNA exam and I like your simulator examples. Are you going to finish Lab 3? this website is very helpful.

      Thanks Angelo

P.S. I download the GNS3 but I dont have any IOS images do you know where I can get them? Thanks again

        Hey Angelo!

Thanks for leaving a comment and I’m very glad that you have been using my simulator tutorials and finding them useful. :)

I’ve been working the past two days on adding support for the RIP routing protocol and that lab uses three routers that you will need to configure and will be able to ping between all three routers. I will be finished with this lab tutorial tonight!

I’ve heard of GNS3, but I’ve never used it and so I also don’t know where you are supposed to get IOS images. But just so you know this was a big reason why I started working on my Online Network Simulator to make it super easy for people to get started configuring Cisco routers and switches without having to install anything.

Let me know of any other tutorials you would be interested in as you prepare for your CCNA so that I can help out.

Thanks for your time and support!
        -Blake
